Astronomical Portfolio

Astronomical Photography is something completely difference because the light is so weak, and exposures are usually long.  The vast milky way above makes for some wonderful photography that in the past took a long time to acquire.  A telescope is needed to capture the details and color of the star clusters, nebula, and galaxies.

Astrophotography Today

With almost 50 years of astrophotography, I have moved into the 21^st century completely remote. My telescope is in southwest Colorado at my friend’s observatory at 7,000 feet in very dark skies, and I control it remotely from Arizona with my friend Giuseppe Carmine Iaffaldano in Italy.  I still enjoy astronomical photography for fun.  Now working at the Kitt Peak Observatory Visitor Center as the observatory technician and enjoy nebulae the most because of the rich color within them.   Milky way photography sitting under God’s beautiful sky above.

Experience

I have over 15 years’ experience in remote observatory operations. My experience is very good with many astrophotography imaging software packages. Many photographs publish in Astronomy and Sky & Telescope Magazines.  In addition, many photographs were published in several books around the whole and also used in software applications such as CCD Navigator.
