The Landscape Photography God has given us is beautiful that adds rich color and scenery with amazing contrast and details. Sometimes created with a setting sun, after a cool winter snow, or creations of time make good landscapes.
I enjoy this kind of photography the most because there is so many types of landscapes. Usually, a wide angle lens works very well. However, a telephoto lens yields some wonderful photographs with rich detail. Panoramas gives a great personal view of the scenery.
Planning and thinking is what landscape photography is all about the photos I wish to capture. Many times I have scouted a location keeping in mind when to return under the best lighting conditions.
When I plan on talking this kind of photography it must do a lot with the time of day. Just before sunrise a couple hours works very well. In contrast, a couple of hours before sunset also offers a unique lighting condition. Finally, getting off road or a trail opens scenery that sometimes is not photographed that often.
A polarize filter helps when the sun is 90 degrees from the direction I am shooting. When capture ocean waves, a neutral density filter around 3 stops to capture the motion of the water. A longer exposure with a denser filter smooths out the ocean which works very well at sunset. The Lord has created this these landscape for us to enjoy.
Next time you are out traveling the countryside, take the extra time to enjoy the wonder places in your country. The state parks and national parks put aside this scenery for generations to share and remember. Always remember to keep it clean and take only pictures and leave foot prints.
